Our History

KAFOVA traces its roots back to 2014, when it began as a simple get-together for retired comrades of the Kenya Air Force. A turning point came in June 2015, when one of our members fell ill and required urgent financial assistance for surgery. This need sparked the idea of forming a welfare group with the mission of uplifting members socially, economically, and in matters of health — offering support whenever needed.
As gatherings continued, members shared new ideas: creating wealth, generating employment, fostering social networks, and empowering one another in old age. These discussions gave rise to a strong desire to grow and align with modern business trends.

2015 Formation of the Welfare Group

In 2015, the Kenya Air Force Officers Veterans Welfare Group was formally established. Its mission was to enhance the social, health, and economic well-being of members through both human and capital investment.

2016 Growth and Re-Engineering

Following a General Meeting in 2016, members agreed to re-engineer the structure of the organization and venture into income-generating activities. This decision marked a major milestone with the birth of KAFOVA SACCO.

The SACCO quickly gained public interest, thanks to the trust and integrity of its leadership and services. This success led us to review and amend our by-laws to open membership beyond retired Air Force officers, allowing wider participation
